CoaXPress Camera Recording Station at 3.5 Gigabytes per second

In the past two years, the introduction of high speed and high resolution CoaXPress cameras has generated a considerable increase in data rates. NorPix has kept pace with this emerging technology to record from these cameras direct to disk without compression or image degradation.

StreamPix 6 software works with all the major producers of CoaXPress frame grabbers and cameras. In the example below, StreamPix can record from 2 synchronized CoaXPress cameras to 3.5 Gigabytes per second without dropping frames.

This setup records in synchronized mode from 2 cameras at 70 frames per second with a camera resolution of 25MP for a total amount of data of 3.5 Gigabytes per second. Lowering resolution and increasing the frame rate is also possible, depending on each camera and frame grabber.

This setup was built by NorPix using carefully selected off the shelf hardware, StreamPix software, CoaXPress cameras and compatible frame grabbers. NorPix’s two main software packages, StreamPix and TroublePix, support all of the major manufacturers of CoaXPress cameras and frame grabbers.
