Creating and acquiring video loops.
Method 1: Pre/Post video loop recording on trigger.
Method 2: Simple Video looping.
The objective is to save on disk capacity. By creating and acquiring a 10 minute video loop, we can keep a record of a continuous 10 minutes of recorded video and thus save on disk space. You can run indefinitely without worrying about disk drive capacity.
As an example, this could be used in an application for monitoring failure analysis. Set up a camera on a moving web and let it free run, recording frames to disk in a continuous loop until a trigger or some other event such as a break in the web occurs. Then, let it run for a preset additional period of time before suspending.
You would then end up with a loop of video with history before and after the break in the web for analysis.
Creating a loop:
- Go to File StreamPix settings. Set a recording time corresponding to the loop length.
- Record an initial sequence to a file.
- Change recording setting to, user start stop.
- Set a start and a stop marker at the beginning and end of the sequence in the navigation tool bar.
- After re-recording, StreamPix will loop continuously.
